Ah yes, so many people struggle with the whole ‘no structure free flow’ life VS the ‘disciplined routine’ life when it comes to creative work. For me it’s probably more free flow and I let ideas come naturally and try not for force things, but for others I’ve heard that doesn’t work at all.
I like the routine. It remind me of Stephen King, who wrote every day even when they didn’t feel like it. That lead them to make writing a habit, and while everything wasn’t good, it did sharpen his skills in the long run.
